Hi there! I wanted to share this sweet project I made for little Miss: a baby apron & bib…. also known as a Bapron! We just love it. She had recently started putting her face inside the pocket of her silicone bibs, getting really messy/not eating with it on, so I decided to try to sew her something. I had a bunch of this waterproof bird fabric I had found during a Value Village excursion, so I thought I would find a tutorial on-line to transform it into a fun bib. I found this wonderful video tutorial on youtube from The Crafts Channel that comes with a great pattern to cut and print out (p.8-9). I used some crating cotton for the back and some ribbon i already had. It turned out so so great and it stays down during mealtimes! Woot! And the best part? It took me about 15 minutes from start to finish!

Materials:

  • pattern found HERE (p.8-9)
  • two 12″x17″ pieces of fabric (I udes waterproof fabric and crafting cortton)
  • 1 m or 1 yd of ribbon
  • sewing things
Start by cutting out your fabric. I cut both pieces at the same time.

Belowis a step by step guide to how I put it all together. Howere, the instrcutions are way more deatiled with the Youtube Tutorial from The Crafts Channel.

Here are your two pieces cut out.
Cut your ribbon in half and pin it to the right side of the fabric like so.
Place the other fabric on top, right sides together.
Clip or pin in place and sew all around, make sur to leave those bottom flaps open.
Flip the apron right side out and press the seams. Fold the two neck flaps over, about 1″.
Sew the neck straps.
Then sew all around (except the neck straps), even the bottom opening.
Pull the ribbon trough the neck straps loops.
VoilĂ ! Bapron complete!
Adorable AND so useful! I ended up making two!
